Denim Fit Guide
When shopping for the right pair of women jeans, the first thing you need to know is your three measurements: your size, inseam, and rise. Since most women jeans rest on or slightly above the hips, measure the area between your waist and hips with the measuring tape relaxed. Add 2 inches to your actual measurement for an optimal fit. For example, a person with a 26-inch waist will wear a size 28. To convert this to women sizes, we generally subtract 22 from the number of inches you have measured. For instance, you will wear a size 8 if you measured 30 inches (30 minus 22).
The next thing you need to know is your inseam. Take your best fitting pair of pants and fold them in half along the center and measure from the crotch of the pants down to the end of the leg. This measurement is your inseam. Finally, the rise is the measurement from the crotch to the waist band.
